I am a Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in Research, Consultancy and Teaching. My major research interests are in engineering materials, their characterization, possible applications and related manufacturing processes.
Since 2002, I have been employed by Makerere University, rising through the ranks from Teaching Assistant to the current position of Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. I have expertise in several areas in the field of Mechanical Engineering including Materials science, maintenance, production engineering and management.
I serve as a peer reviewer for various research journals. I have managed various research grants involving international collaboration teams. I have supervised over 25 graduate students to completion, including 3 PhDs. I have published over 40 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals. I am a corporate member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers and a registered engineer by the Engineers Registrations Board of Uganda. I am also an active member of the Rotary Club of Kigo, Uganda.
