I have over 35 years’ experience in mechanical engineering. Currently, I am an associate professor, chairman of a standards’ development committee, and a climate change mitigation negotiator. I have particular experience in renewable energy research and development. On climate change, I have handled training, compiling reports and international negotiations. I have had tasks and consultancies from a number of government entities, international organizations and private firms as a team leader, member, associate or consultant. I have coordinated large grant development projects for government and development agencies whose achievements have included: technology innovations, PhD graduates and experts, state-of-the -art infrastructure and institutional recognition.
I held responsibility for relevance, timeliness, transparency and accountability. I also currently hold the position of Interim Executive Director of East African Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (EACREEE). Prior to this appointment, I was working as the Capacity Building and Research and Development Expert at EACREEE. As an Associate Professor at the Makerere University, College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology (CEDAT), that is hosting EACREEE on behalf of the East African Community (the parent organization of EACREEE with support from UNIDO and the Austrian Development Agency) I was instrumental in the establishment of EACREEE.
