Eng. Dr. Swaib Semiyaga is a Civil Engineer with a track record spanning over 13 years. Having a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Dr. Semiyaga possesses a wealth of expertise in the realms of capacity building, research, consultancy, and the construction of Water, Sanitation, and Structural Infrastructure.
Currently, Dr. Semiyaga is a distinguished Lecturer at Makerere University's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. With more than 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals being a peer reviewer for over 30 reputable international journals, he has made significant contributions to the field of Civil Engineering. Dr. Semiyaga is recognized as a registered Civil Engineer by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Uganda, and he holds membership in the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE).
His dedication extends to global organizations, where he is an active member of the International Water Association (IWA), particularly within the non-sewered sanitation- working group. Moreover, his involvement with the Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS) underscores his commitment to advancing onsite sanitation technologies and systems. With a vast portfolio of consultancy projects under his belt, including the comprehensive range of the sanitation value chain, Dr. Semiyaga has played an instrumental role in shaping sanitation standards, guidelines, manuals, and catalogues for Ugandan municipalities.
His versatile expertise is further evidenced by his role in designing and supervising the construction of various infrastructure. Dr. Swaib Semiyaga's multifaceted contributions have benefited the field of Civil Engineering and Sanitation.
